Steve Homan,self-taught guitarist and composer,has performed with a variety of top name jazz artists including Howard Alden, Bruce Forman, Herb Ellis, Jimmy Smith, Joey Calderazzo, Anita O'Day, Rebecca Kilgore, Diane Schuur and Joe Williams. He has appeared on recordings with Pete Jolly and Anita O'Day ("At Vine Street Live"-DRG records)Gene Estes("In a Sentimental Mood"-Arbor records)and performed at the 1998 International Jazz Festival in Glasgow, Scotland with The Jimmy Smith Quartet.He also composed and arranged music on the 1998 album "Organization", featuring the Delbert Bump Jazz Organ Trio.Steve's latest CD release in called "Duality", featuring a tribute to the great jazz guitar/piano duets with pianist Joe Gilman.Steve was honored with two Jazz Ambassadorships from The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and The U.S.State Dept.As a Jazz Ambassador, Homan toured West Africa(Fall1998) and South/ East Africa(Spring 2000). He currently teaches music privately, conducts summer jazz programs for kids and adults, and is adjunct instructor at American River College, CSUS and Consumnes River College.He has also conducted two workshops for Jazzmasters Workshop.
