Dave Mac Nab has been composing and performing music professionally for over fifteen years. Born in New York, raised in L.A., he has been living in the San Francisco bay area for ten years, drawing inspiration from the abundance of creative talent and the areas' natural beauty. Well versed in the language of jazz, his playing also draws from funk, rock, latin and blues influences, creating a soulful, intelligent sound driven by a strong rhythmic force. He has performed, toured and recorded with a wide range of artists from the Bay Area and beyond, including Eddie Marshall, Larry Goldings, Scott Amendola, Harvey Wainapel, Josh Jones, Chuck Sher, Paul McCandless, Steve Smith, Bob Weir, Shelby Lynne, Charlie Musslewhite, Bryan McKnight and many others. Dave has made many TV and radio appearances, notably The Tonight Show, Late Show with Letterman, Fresh Air, Austin City Limits along with other national, European and Canadian programs. His self-titled debut album was released in 1999 on Noir Records, with the follow up currently being recorded. In addition, Dave is featured on many local and not-so-local recordings. Other recent happenings include theatre work with the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and the touring companies for the Broadway shows RENT and AIDA. Dave also teaches privately and at schools throughout the Bay Area, and holds a B.A. (with honors) in music from Sonoma State.
